The Message of the Fathers of the Church is a companion series to the Old Testament Message andNew Testament Message series. It was conceived and planned in the belief that both Scripture andTradition were necessary to the formation of the early Church.

The term "Fathers" is usually reserved for Christian writers marked by, among other attributes,antiquity. In the present series, however, some elasticity has been used to include authors whose writingscontributed to the evolution of the Message on particular doctrinal matters.
